Don’t you wish that sometimes the folks in Washington would just say what they mean and mean what they say? I wouldn’t hold my breath on that without someone who knows CPR on standby in close proximity.

Congressman Mike Doyle may require assistance in this area. While Mr. Doyle claims that he is pro-life, his voting record and involvement in recent legislative scandals indicate that he either 1. does not comprehend the definition of “pro-life” or 2. has no sense of morality when the lives of the unborn have to take a backseat to his immediate self-gratification.

As many Americans are aware, “pro-life” Congressman Bart Stupak refused to vote on Obamacare unless a provision was included to ban tax payer funded abortions in the bill. Stupak sponsored and amendment to the bill that would have been withstanding. The only way to truly ban taxpayer-funded abortions is by writing it into the law.

However, rather than pushing for the amendment to remain in the bill, Stupak caved to the Obama Administration’s “compromise” for his vote. An executive order was written to ban tax payer funded abortions. We all know the case was that this was an appeasement to gain Stupak’s vote, only to be removed later. Stupak caved, and voted for the bill. The rest as we know, is history.

What many people do not know or understand is that fellow “pro-life” Congressman and friend of Stupak, Mike Doyle of PA District 14, was behind the Stupak Sell-Out. Doyle and Stupak openly admit that Doyle facilitated talks between the White House and Stupak to come to the agreement. Stupak has noted on the record, that Doyle attended all of the meetings and acted as the liaison between the White House and Stupak.

The whole executive order was a hoax. Doyle politicked his way to a “yay” vote from Stupak for Obamacare to help House Democrats pass the bill.

How much did Stupak sell out for? $700,000 in funding for an airport.

How much is the life of a child worth to you? How much is your life worth? Bart Stupak and Mike Doyle’s price on a life is roughly $700,000.

After “signing” the executive order behind closed doors, with no press present, President Obama has taken back his promise to not allow taxpayer dollars to fund abortions. The Department of Health and Human Services planned to grant Pennsylvania $160 million toward healthcare coverage that includes the coverage of abortions.

So much for executive orders, huh?

Thankfully, pro-life watchdog groups rescued the taxpayers from having to front money on a procedure that could compromise their values. But for how long? How long until this issue comes up again in Pennsylvania or other states? While Pennsylvania and New Mexico have promised to revise their directives for the health plans, it is only a matter of time before states start failing victim to taxpayer-funded abortions.

Congressman Doyle’s moral compass is out of whack. His voting record on the issue is sketchy. While he claims to be pro-life, he has voted in favor of embryonic stem cell research on more than one occasion. Does the Congressman not understand perhaps where embryos come from?

Melissa Haluszczak is the only TRUE pro-life candidate running for District 14 in Pennsylvania. She would never sell out the lives of unborn children for airport funds, or any funding. As per my previous post, Melissa is voting based on Constitution, Conscience and Constituents. If you are pro-life, then be pro-life and be it all the time, not when it is just convenient for you because you need more votes to move forward with your agenda.

Say what you mean and mean what you say. We are watching.

The city of Pittsburgh has not known a Republican mayor in over 100 years. The city itself is the heart of Pennsylvania Congressional District 14, ran by Democrat Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, 9 Democratic Councilmen and women and serviced on the federal level by incumbent Democrat Mike Doyle. Voters registered as Democrats outnumber those registered as Republicans in Pittsburgh 5 to 1.

To use an Obama glittering generality, does this sound like “choice and competition” to you? Doyle himself has served in District 18 (now seated by Republican Tim Murphy) from 1995-2003 and in District 14 from 2003-today. Fifteen years is enough damage for Mr. Doyle to cause, lest we let him go on to run our district into a distaster of Jack Murtha proportions. It’s time for a change of scenery for Mr. Doyle.

Sounds like a battle to the death for any Republican with the gall to run. Fortunately for District 14, we finally have our warrior: Melissa Haluszczak of Coraopolis and co-founder of the Coraopolis Tea Party. While an “R” may appear next to her name on the ballot, Melissa is anything but your status quo Republican. Melissa is our shining light in a year of drive-by tax and spend bills at the local, state and federal levels. Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell can’t keep his hands out of an abysmally negative $1.3 billion cookie jar (and growing) or out of the empty pockets of Pennsylvanians as he proposed $52 million in new taxes in June.

Congressman Doyle is a fan of taxes himself, voting in favor of Obamacare, which will tax citizens whether they buy into a health insurance plan or not. He accomplished this feat while simultaneously selling out the lives of the unborn alongside fellow professed pro-lifer, Congressman Bart Stupak in order to pass the bill. We’re all eager to see him vote in favor of cap and tax, which could potentially cost Pennsylvanias at least an additional $4000 per household per year in energy costs as a state primarily running on coal. President Obama has gone so far as to say that with his cap and trade plan, coal plants will go bankrupt, yet both Doyle and Obama pander to electrical worker unions for their votes and campaign donations.

With unemployment at over 9% across the country (in some states and cities as bad as 14%), who can afford more taxes?

Melissa pledges to do what Doyle and his ilk have refused to do: represent their constituents and their best interests. At the Southwest PA Tea Party on July 3rd, Melissa spoke with people concerned about what all of the spending will do to their wallets and how disenfranchised they feel by their elected officials. With a servant’s heart, Melissa has pledged to review all legislation to meet the criteria of the The Three C’s: Constitution, Conscience and Constituents. Most importantly, she has pledged to actually READ the bills!

Simply put, if the bill is unconstitutional, immoral in a way that would weigh on her conscience and against the wishes of her constituents, then her vote is “nay.” Melissa is not afraid to take on her party because she is a public servant and concerned citizen before she is a Republican.

She believes like so many of us that the days of party politics and bad ethics in Washington are numbered. She has stated that “Bad values in government gave us Rangol who forgot he had a $1 million home and also cheated on his taxes. Bad values in government gave us Franklin Raines who decided to overestimate the earnings of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac by $6.3 million so he could take a $90 million bonus. Good values in business and good values in government are essential.”

Melissa will bring common sense policies to a political world of utter nonsense and chaos. The Pittsburgh area is dying. We have an increasing amount of seniors and youth are fleeing our city and county, seeking opportunity in other areas of the county. Yet, we keep voting in more of the same, hoping that this time that person will get it right.

We have it all wrong, Pennsylvania. It is time to stop pulling switches because there is a “D” next to the name and start listening to what the candidates have to offer. Find out the character of the candidate. Mike Doyle claims his seat is safe. When was the last time Mike Doyle came knocking at your door to shake your hand and ask for your vote? When was the last time Mike Doyle held a townhall meeting to find out how YOU wanted him to vote on legislation? What jobs, economic growth and opportunities for prosperity and affordable education and business practices has Mike Doyle brought to a district primarily made up of low to moderate income neighborhoods?

More taxes, partisan party politics, cozy relationships with unions and special interests and more of the same good ‘ol boy networks. When was the last time Mike Doyle’s vote represented YOU, YOUR best interest, YOUR voice?

This year has shown us that party is not what We the People crave. We the People want career politicians to find a new day job. We need fresh ideas, bold voices and a return to traditional, common sense, American values.

It’s time to put a new voice in Washington and in our district. A vote for Melissa this November is a vote for the type of change that the Obama Administration and Mike Doyle have failed to deliver: transparency, honesty, good business values, adherence to our Constitution and an ear to the Will of We the People.

Tax Day Tea Parties 2.0 were in full swing across our beautiful nation yesterday, with an estimated 2000 cities nationwide hosting events. Many prominent and lesser known conservative figures turned out at events to help send our message the Obama Administration and an out of control Congress: In November you can collect your unemployment check with the rest of America.

I attended the Pittsburgh Tea Party on Tax Day. This time rather than listen to the speakers, I decided to conduct a demographic survey and interview some of my fellow Pittsburghers. I wanted to know who exactly was at the Tea Party so that we could find out the most important figure of all: Who isn’t here and how can we get them here? (In a few days, I will have my results and suggestions posted for you to see. You can also listen to Sean Hannity’s radio show on Monday, April 16th. I will be speaking with Sean in the 5:00 hour regarding my findings.)

The beautiful thing about the Tea Parties is that it is the most American thing we have done as a people in over 200 years. This country started with a Tea Party because the people living in the colonies had a vision of how they wanted to live their lives. They understood tyranny and did not fear freedom and liberty. They craved it. They could taste it. They needed it.

They deserved it. So they fought for it and earned it and built a nation based on individual and personal liberties.

We have experienced and learned about so many incredible leaders throughout our nation’s short history. But now we stand a nation at arms with its government. The same tyranny that lead to the American Revolution is not just on our doorstep. It’s in our wallets. It’s in our homes. It’s in our schools. It’s in our workplace. It is infiltrating every facet of our lives and decimating our freedom.

Our Dear Leader thinks a joke of us. Last year he laughed at us. Openly mocked us. Saying that we were waving our “little tea bags.”

This time, he got a little more bold. He said that we are out here chanting about taxes, taxes, taxes then stated the following: “You would think they should be saying thank you.” And then there was laughter…

Wow. That extra $10 in my paycheck every week has really been making a difference. Oh wait…no it hasn’t because this administration is about to hike taxes to astronomical figures to fund ObamaKare. Plus when Cap and Trade passes. And don’t forget the Value Added Tax that is on deck. Plus the tax you will pay if you don’t have what the government considers “acceptable health care.” http://docs.house.gov/rules/health/111_ahcaa.pdf (Page 8 is the first page the word “tax” appears on…it gets worse from there.)

How’s that hope and change working out for you?

A President is supposed to listen to the American people. Not show contempt for them, as he so often has done. Is Fox News pretty conservative? Yes. But they do present healthy debates with people from all parties appearing together. MSNBC is EXTREMELY left wing with Chris “Thrills” Matthews and Olbermann, so shouldn’t people have an alternative? (According to one of our Czar’s we shouldn’t.)

George W. Bush was not the best or brightest President. But there is one thing he never ever did: Make fun of the American people. He may have been a lot of things, but condescending was not one of them. I believe he honestly cared about this country and he never ever tried to silence the American people or make us feel as though our opinions were not valid. He never used the return of fallen soldiers as a photo op (and admit that he had done so!).

Hillary Clinton once said:

“I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate, and you disagree with this administration, somehow you’re not patriotic, and we should stand up and say we are Americans, and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration!”

Too bad that only held true when it was convenient for the left. Now we’re all racist rednecks for disagreeing with policies that we wouldn’t go along with no matter who was dishing them out.

The arrogance has got to stop. Obama acts with enough hubris to sink an aircraft carrier, but doesn’t have enough courage to defend our country and stand up for us when others attack us verbally (or heaven forbid we should have to find out how he reacts if they attack us with violence).

The audacity of hubris is among us. He didn’t want to “inherit” a war, but he sure created one.

Keep fighting.

For the second time, President Obama has “dissed” the city of Las Vegas. However, Mayor Oscar Goodman has had enough of Obama’s irresponisble rhetoric and hypocrisy and blasted the President over his statements.

In an ironic attempt to lecture the American people on fiscal responsibility, President Obama stated “When times are tough, you tighten your belts. You don’t go buying a boat when you’re trying to pay your mortgage. You don’t blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you’re trying to save on college. You prioritize, you make tough choices.”

First of all, how many people do you know blew their kid’s education fund in Vegas? Is that the new societal norm? Did I miss that memo? Did I miss the memo where Americans aren’t allowed to travel, enjoy vacations, and support the economies of our cities?

This is all stirred up because of his statements last year, “You are not going to be able to give out these big bonuses until you pay taxpayers back. You can’t get corporate jets. You can’t go take a trip to Las Vegas or go down to the Super Bowl on the taxpayers’ dime.”

That’s funny, Mr. President, because you didn’t mind a $10,000 date night on the tax payer’s dime last winter. But I digress.

Mayor Goodman has stepped up though in defense of the city he runs, putting the President in his place more so than anyone that I have heard to date.

“The assumption that all meetings, events, and incentive travel (to Las Vegas) are wasteful is wrong,” Goodman wrote. “Now more than ever, we need businesses to travel and hold meetings and events.”

On Tuesday, Mayor Goodman blasted Obama with this:

“I guess you’ve all seen the president’s remarks or read about the president’s remarks, well I’ve got some remarks of my own. I was back in Washington, D.C. about two weeks ago, going up and down the halls of the capitol telling people about our economy here, trying to get them to be sympathetic to what we’re trying to accomplish, then I have to read what President Obama said.

“He has a real psychological hang up about the entertainment capitol of the world. An apology won’t be acceptable this time, I don’t know where his vendetta comes from but we’re not going to let him make his bones by lambasting Las Vegas, that’s why (the press) is here today.

“He didn’t learn his lesson the first time, but when he hurt our economy by his ill conceived rhetoric, we didn’t think it would happen again, but now that it has I want to assure you, when he comes I’ll do everything I can to give him the boot back to Washington and to visit his failures back there.

“I gotta tell you this, everybody says I shouldn’t say it, but I gotta tell you the way it is. This president is a real slow learner.”

Mayor Goodman, slow is not even the word, but it’ll do for now! Thank you for standing up for your city and state.

And for anyone who criticizes the Mayor for “disrespecting the President,” think long and hard about Harry Reid calling Bush a liar and REFUSING to retrack the statement or apologize. And called Bush a “loser.”

After reading Harry Reid’s racially charged remarks for the thirtieth time and recognizing the extreme double standard between Conservatives and Liberals, I remembered the comments that Rush Limbaugh made a few years ago about Donovan McNabb, and the context in which he used them.

Basically, Reid exemplified Rush’s Donovan McNabb analysis. Reid said that Obama could win an election because he was “light skinned” and spoke with “no Negro dialect unless he wanted to.”

Let’s examine Reid’s remarks. He believed Obama could win on the basis of his skin color and his voice inflection and use of diction. Wow. Sounds like someone championing a black man to succeed.

Now, let us look at Rush’s remarks. Rush stated of McNabb, “Sorry to say this, I don’t think he’s been that good from the get-go,” Limbaugh said. “I think what we’ve had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn’t deserve. The defense carried this team.”

Rush stated what he believed was true: A football player was being hailed for talent that didn’t exist as a possible all time great for the sake of propping up someone on the basis of their skin. People wanted to see a black man succeed.

Now, compare that with what Harry Reid said. He used the fact that Obama is black but basically can “act white” to say that he had a shot at success. Let us all remember that Obama’s resume is more thin than Kate Moss. No major accomplishments. No major sponsored legislation. A high record for voting “present” or appearing late to Senate debates and conferences.

All Reid did was prove Limbaugh’s statement, yet Limbaugh was dragged through the mud.

Reid of course though, could have “chosen better words.” So did we take him out of context? Keep in mind that Reid never thought these words would see the light of day.

The left and African Americans are giving Reid a pass because Reid is scratching their backs with his Marxist agenda.

Let’s just hope that voters have their eyes wide open in Nevada in November.

On December 14th, Obama met with the CEOs of the top 12 banks to discuss lending, TARP and other topics surrounding the massive bank bailouts of 2008 (and continuing on through 2009 with more banks, the auto industry and whatever other industries the government decided to take over or attempt to take over).

I didn’t catch this speech the first time around because it was finals week for me at school. I finally viewed this just this week while watching Glenn Beck.

Obama had the following to say at around the 5:15 mark of this video: “The way I see it, having recovered from with the help of the American government and the American taxpayer, our banks now have a greater obligation to the goal of a wider recovery, a more stable system, and more broadly shared prosperity.”

The help of the American taxpayer? My brother and I watched in stunned silence. He said help. No. This was the raping of the American taxpayer in every sense of the word. It was against our will. It robbed us of our freedom. It took away our pride and our dignity. It made us feel dirty. And most importantly: WE SAID NO. And by “no” we didn’t mean “yes!”

The American taxpayer didn’t want to help because it was not our obligation. It was our Constitutional right NOT to help just as it was the banks, insurance companies and autocompanies right to fail.

The four laws of economic freedom are: Freedom to try. Freedom to buy. Freedom to sell. Freedom to fail. These are our rights given to us by our creator. God told us to love thy neighbor, not steal thy neighbor’s future!

These companies are also now obligated to broaden prosperity. Prosperity is not a right. The only right we have is the right to pursue prosperity. It is not guarenteed. And sometimes you have to fall on your butt before you can succeed. Failure is a necessary step in success. It humbles you. It teaches you what not to do in your next go round.

But now we stand a nation raped of our freedom, our money and our dignity as more people stand around idle with their hands out waiting for a buck from Obama’s stash.

We should be ashamed of ourselves. We need to examine how we became this way and how we lost sight of what it means to earn your living.

Get your hands out of your neighbor’s wallet America and get to work on reclaiming our nation as it was meant to be. Success is yours for the taking, but don’t rape your neighbor to attain it.

Comrades! I am so pleased to share this historic time in our nation’s government with you! America’s most transparent government in over 200 years has finally written 2000 pages of legislation just for you! Our government knows that most Americans are too slow and feeble minded to read, so there is no need to fret, Comrades. This bill will NOT be posted for five days on the White House website for you to preview before the Führer President signs it into law. So you need not worry your pretty little heads about having to read the bill and trying to comprehend it. (You’re not alone! Many of your leaders did not read it either! They don’t have “two days and two lawyers” to help them either!)

Trust in our Dear Leader my fellow Comrades. He is leading the most historically transparent government of our time. They are the ones we have been waiting for! Witness now for yourself, transparency in action:

Ugh.

Just when I thought San Fran Nan could not possibly make me any more sick to my stomach, she manages to prove me wrong (*sigh* again). Yesterday, Madame Speaker and her most literal partner in crime, Mr. Tax Evader of the Year, Charles Rangel (Dist. 15, D-NY) laugh openly on live television at the notion of the President keeping his campaign promise to televise all health care debating live on C-SPAN.

Does anyone else find this funny? I find it morally reprehensible that these two crooks found transparency such a riot.

Like Michael Steele, I find it laughable that she claimed this was the most transparent and open debate any member of Congress has experienced with a straight face. But with all due respect to Madame Speaker, that “straight face” was injected there. She referenced the town halls, but if she had witnessed a town hall meeting she would know that the overwhelming majority of Americans turned out at town hall meetings in open opposition to this behemoth take over of the health industry.

I know. I attended one. In a blue state.

But Madame Speaker and her cronies do know the truth. They know what the American people want and don’t want. They don’t care. Their laughter is proof. Her gavel is not far off from being removed from her cold hands, but she doesn’t care. Dodd doesn’t care that he is bowing out. None of them do. They have a nice retirement and a Cadillac health plan following them out the door. So why not push through as much dangerous legislation as possible on their way out?

I hope you have more fight in you this year “Comrades.” 2010 is going to get ugly…

Everyone’s other favorite Sweetheart, Chris Dodd has announced that he will not seek re-election. Rather than pulling a Specter and switching parties with hope of re-election, Dodd has taken his approval rating as a hint that his time will be better spent ripping off Americans in some other facet of life.

This past fall, NY-23 offered a valuable lesson that the GOP would do well to listen to: stop giving us Scoffazza and bring on more Hoffmans! Doug Hoffman was relatively unknown until a month prior to the election. Dems were jubilant at the victory and claimed they had nothing to worry about, even though NJ and VA BOTH had blow-out elections in favor of the GOP.

The truth is they are worried. The real story is that Scoffazza dropped out of the race. She was more liberal than the democrat! The people of this great nation have spoken and people such as Newt Gingrich need to open their ears to the message: We are sick of party politics. We are no longer going to vote along party lines simply because of what our voter registration card says. Give us a TRUE conservative and we will turn out, we will donate our money and we will rally behind you. But we will not settle for any more elections like the Presidential Election of 2008, where we vote for the lesser of two evils.

McCain didn’t have a chance. He only pulled the votes he did because Sarah Palin was on the ticket, but he will never admit that. I respect the Senator, but he wasn’t what we were craving.

It is time for the Beltway to be flushed out and imersed with a new generation of elected representatives. We need to get rid of the career politicians, the backdoor deals, the late night votes and this liberal, politically correct, money wasting machine. We need REAL Americans to step up to the plate and run for office. We need small business owners, mothers, fathers, small town folk, fiscally conservative, compassionate, genuinely concerned citizens running Washington. We need someone who supports our Second Amendment Right and will be willing to protect us without the distraction of a political game.

We need to take a stand and return to basics, remember our Founding Fathers and the map they laid for us to follow.

We have the answers. The answers are not in the chapter on FDR or LBJ (although it is a fine example of what NOT to do). The answers are in the magnificent writings of James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, John Adams and George Washington. Read John Jay. Read Ronald Reagan! Congressmen were not supposed to have job security. It is a public service and if we get the revolving door going, new ideas, new innovation will take hold and we can return this country to its former glory.

We need to quit worrying what the rest of the world thinks of us because we can afford to be disliked and viewed as heavy-handed. We cannot afford to be viewed as weak.

Bring on the REAL conservatives GOP and you’ll have our support. The status quo is through!

On Christmas Day, a Nigerian with ties to al Qaeda attempted to blow up a Northwest Flight. After three days, Obama finally addressed the nation, calling it an “isolated incident.” (I’m pretty sure that’s how he described the Fort Hood massacre as well.)

Yesterday. Obama announced in his weekly address that the underwear bomber was linked to al Qaeda, stating “It appears that he joined an affiliate of al Qaeda, and that this group – al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula – trained him, equipped him with those explosives and directed him to attack that plane headed for America.”

Way to keep up, Skippy. The rest of the United States knew this guy was affiliated with al Qaeda by December 26th or 27th at the latest. It took the Commander in Chief until December 28th to even address the nation regarding the terrorist incident.

I am only holding this president to the same standard that Bush was held to. People on the left were livid on 9/11 when Bush took an hour to get some facts before addressing the nation. He was back in the White House, even though the White House was evacuated and it was advised that he stay away from D.C. by 11:00 that night. Barry O polished off his vacation before returning back to Washington today.

Bush was excoriated when it came to things like returning to his own home in Texas for a weekend of R&R, but the Obama family spends over a week in Hawaii and then comes home.

Get on the ball, Mr. President. You’ve vacationed and golfed more in one year while we are fighting two wars and in an economic meltdown than Bush did in his first term. For as much as he gets on the television and talks about how we must pass all of this legislation or America will die as a nation, one would think he’d spend a bit more time doing some work instead of having date nights worth tens of thousands of dollars on the tax payer’s dime.

We’re at war and al Qaeda is once again trying to bring the war to our doorstep.

Act like it.
